We played Cambridgeshire on the 1st day. I won my singles match against R Porsz 6-1, 5-7, 6-3, it was not a world class match but a win is a win and that is all that counts. I played doubles with Jenna (one of my great mates)and we played S Riley and R Porsz. We won playing a really good doubles and had a great laugh. Surrey won overall 7-2.
We played Middlesex on the 2nd day. I played Lena Keothavong and won 6-3, 6-2. My serve was on fire, hitting aces all over the place. I did not play doubles as I had a bad ankle which I was having physio on. Surrey won overall 7-2.
The final day was against Yorkshire and it was the final as both teams had beaten the others. I won my singles against Alice Mackenzie 7-6(1), 6-4 but we were already 5-2 down in matches before we went on for our doubles so we had already lost. It was hard to go out and play doubles when you have already lost. I did not really want to play as I was tired and wanted to rest my ankle but Jenna and I went out and Yorkshire won the championship taking the gold medals. Surrey were awarded the silver medals and stay up in Division 1.
It was a great three days of tennis, there was a great team spirit and it was a priviledge to play for my county.
