New Malden tennis starlet Melanie South has been selected to play for Great Britain in next week's Maureen Connelly Cup in Bournemouth.
Then she will go to Cardiff before taking part in the Senior Nationals.
Melanie was the youngest player at this year's Wimbledon, where she won her three pre-qualifying matches before a 6-4 6-4 defeat by Germany's Andreana Barna.
She also reached the final of the U18 nationals held in Nottingham. It means Melanie now has a singles and doubles world ranking.
Melanie is studying for her A-levels at Nonsuch High School in Cheam and
is grateful for the support staff there have given her as she combines her studies with tennis.
